Carol Theresa Huber Jarriel Maddox

Carol Theresa Huber Jarriel Maddox, age 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Nana, and friend. She loved Jesus, her family, and her friends. She had a kind and gentle spirit and was always grateful for all her many blessings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karolina and Heinrick Huber and her brother, Henry Huber and leaves behind three generations of extended family that she loved greatly and who will miss her dearly.

Carol was born on August 7, 1926, in Zurich, Switzerland. She moved to Georgia in 1947 to marry the first love of her life, Fred Jarriel. They were married 31 years before this death in 1978. She found love again in 1982, when she married Clyde Maddox. They were married for 34 years before he passed away in 2016. She spent the last 8 years of her life in Maryville, Tennessee, where she enjoyed spending time with her daughters, Shirley (Erik) Willems and Susan (Alan) Upchurch as well as grandchildren, Amanda (Neil) Howerton, Allison (Jason) McCarter, and Mark (Ashley) Upchurch and great-grandchildren, Grace, Pierson, Elizabeth, Adalynn, Amelia, Annalee, and Avett.

The family would like to thank the staff at Shannondale Skilled Nursing and the Hospice staff from Blount Memorial for the love and care they gave Carol. A Celebration of Life service for Carol will be held at a later date.
